Special Programs

Computer Tots Program – For our 2 ½ - 5 year olds, Mrs. Amy comes weekly to teach them a fun, 30-minute lesson on the computer. Open since 1982, Computer Tots (www.computerexplorers.com/220) is a nationwide computer technology course that enhances a child’s school readiness. By having these weekly sessions with Miss Amy, your children will become computer-ready for Kindergarten by meeting or exceeding the ISTE’s National Educational Standards for Students and Requirements for Wisconsin schools.

Nature Lady Program – Mrs. Linda Mordy, our very own “Nature Lady,” brings to our toddlers and preschool children a monthly nature program. Experienced in teaching children at Riveredge Center, Miss Linda wows us every month! Recent topics have been: Nature’s Colors (leaf rubbings), Autumn Seeds (pumpkin critter home), Winter Birds (creating bird treats), Soaring in the Wind (owls and kites), and Earth Day (planting a tree). As a bonus, Mrs. Linda usually takes our students outside to explore the Marsh Meadow, a wooded area with several chipped nature trails and a butterfly garden.

Music Program – ALL of our children, infants included, participate in a monthly music session with Mrs. Linda Ehlers. Singing, rhythm, instruments and dance are all a part of our music program. The children are encouraged, but not required, to actively participate – which allows them to experience the FUN of the program! Linda Ehlers earned her degree in Voice from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, and is currently a member of the Florentine Opera Chorus and Milwaukee Choral Artists. Linda is also a certified Kindermusik Educator, teaching music and movement to infants and toddlers and their parents.
