SPECIAL EVENTS

We devote this part of our web site to recent special events at Sonlight Center. Enjoy it!

PAJAMA DAY is so much fun because we get to wear our PAJAMAS all day long!!! The kids also watched a video and had Teddy Bear treats, since Pajama Day comes in the middle of TEDDY BEAR WEEK, where our kids bring a favorite teddy bear or other stuffed animal to Sonlight Center each day!

SNOWMAN BUILDING!!! What do you do in the snow? Why, build a snowman!!! Mrs. Betty's class had a blast creating their own snowman to watch over the playground.

PACKER PARTY: Sonlight kids and staff LOVE our Packers, so we had a party on Friday, January 13. Packers didn't win, but we still support them!!!

NATURE LADY: Winter brings special times with our Nature Lady, Mrs. Linda. We created a special "cake" for our birds, made out of snow and seeds!

CHRISTMAS CHEER: Our children were dressed in their Christmas finest to help us celebrate the birth of Christ. Santa even made an appearance! Here are some of us...

 

 

THANKSGIVING FEAST: Over 100 parents, grandparents, siblings and other guests came for our Thanksgiving Feast. The preschoolers performed while all looked on. Mequon United Methodist Church volunteers served us all turkey sandwiches, salads, and pies for dessert!

   

   

HARVEST FEST: Our kids all wore fun costumes. We had a parade in the Fellowship Hall for the parents, and each room had a party to celebrate the day!

   

   

RED, WHITE AND BLUE DAY:

How do you celebrate Independence Day?... with a good ol' fashioned parade and party! Family members and friends were invited cheer on the parade and celebrate with us!

     

   

EASTER: We had a great celebration at Sonlight! The whole Center participated in an Easter Parade, with parents cheering them on. All the children had fun decorating and hunting for eggs and sharing treats in their classrooms.

     

   

GREEN DAY: Sonlight took advantage of St. Patrick’s Day and celebrated GREEN DAY on March 17. All the children and staff came in green, and parents brought green treats to add to the fun of the day.

   

       

RED, WHITE & PINK DAY: Valentine's Day is a fun time to give and receive greetings from our friends. Here at Sonlight everyone came in colors of the day and brought cards and treats to share.

     

 

Mrs. Linda, Sonlight's own Nature Lady, always has a great time with our children. One morning, she spent the morning talking about eggs (from the perspective of birds …) and each child created their own bird nest, complete with “eggs!”
