“LEARNING THROUGH PLAY IN A NURTURING ENVIRONMENT”

Sonlight Child Development Center’s Philosophy Statement:

     Development of the whole child, helping each child grow in spirit, mind, body,

     and relationships through support, education and resources for the entire family.

Sonlight Center provides children and families a safe and nurturing learning environment that includes:

• Weekly Computer Tots (2 1/2 yrs & up), monthly nature and music program

• Nature explorations on nature trails and a safe outdoor playground

• Age appropriate, developmentally appropriate, and culturally diverse activities and materials in the classrooms

• Caring, experienced and well-trained lead and assistant teachers

• Planned activities that meet the individual needs of all children

• Opportunities for children to learn through

  exploring materials in their environment

• Participation in large and small groups

• Developing each child’s fine and gross motor, social, cognitive, self-help, problem solving, communication and language skills

• Encouragement of children’s creativity and curiosity

• Fresh and nutritious lunch and snacks
